VIP PANEL & LAUNCH OF THE NORTHERN GROWTH GROUP - in parliament
On Wednesday 20th May, the Northern Growth Group - In Parliament officially launched at UKREiiF 2026, bringing together some of the biggest names across the North for panel discussion and VIP reception.
Kindly hosted by Wates Group, the Northern Growth Group marked it’s launch at UKREiiF by asking the all important question:
What does the North need to drive Growth?
Our expert panelists included Tom Riordan CBE, Northern Growth Envoy to the Chancellor, Henri Murison, Chief Executive of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership, Wayne Flannery, Managing Director of Wates Construction West, as well as Gill Morris, Executive Chair of Devo Agency.

After the panel discussion, the Northern Growth Group held a VIP drinks reception to mark the occasion, discussing how businesses, parliamentarians, sector organisations and key stakeholders can come together to accelerate growth across the North through 4 key areas: Clean Power, Transport, Culture as well as Homes, Communities and Places.
With big money now on the table for the North - from NPR, the Northern Growth Corridor, Net-Zero and Innovation Clusters and urban regeneration - how businesses, parliamentarians and local authorities work together to power up growth in the North has never been more important.
The Northern Growth Group - In Parliament - bridges the gap between Westminster and the North’s leaders. This will ensure that the infrastructure, investment, innovation, education, employment and skills across the North will successfully deliver greater connectivity, communities, homes and places, clean power and cultural capital for its people and places.
This exciting new initiative will shape, inform and lead on the future growth agenda.
